Dear lector augustus,
It appears we are long overdue for an update. Between travel, the Imperium Coffee launch, and last month’s retreat, time has certainly flown this summer!
As such, James and I would like to take a moment to properly update you on the future of INVICTUS. Since launching in December of last year, we’ve been thrilled to see the interest in this publication — over 10,000 readers have joined in the past 7 months — and we’re excited to share what we intend to do to ensure you get the most out of your subscription in the coming months.
Without further ado, here’s a summary of what you can expect:
1) Helping You Build Your Dynasty
Whether discussing Pope Pius XII’s advice for aspiring nobles, or how the Medici family rose to and fell from power, we’ve gotten our best feedback on articles that help you learn how to build your dynasty.
As such, we’ll be sharing more articles that look at primary sources to see how famous figures rose to prominence and passed down their values across multiple generations. Our goal is to give you the tools and insight you need to raise great children and start a dynasty of your own.
If you’re new to INVICTUS, here are three of our past articles written in this vein:
How to Build (and Destroy) a Dynasty
IMPORTANT: If you’re a regular reader, scroll down to the end of this email for an important update about our June publication schedule.
The Manual for Kings & Men
On this day, the 19th June 1566, the man who would unite the thrones of Scotland, England and Ireland was born at Edinburgh castle.
2) INVICTUS Podcast
As an added benefit to our paid subscribers, we will be launching a podcast series in which we interview members of European nobility and aristocracy to learn from the wisdom of historic families.
In between our main episodes, we will also release interviews with accomplished historians and biographers to discuss what you can learn from the figures whose lives they’ve documented.
Episodes will be released roughly once a month, and free subscribers will be able to listen to segments of our full conversations.
3) Publication Frequency
As a result of the extra work needed to accomplish all of the above, we will be dropping our publication frequency from three times weekly to twice weekly.
Going forward, all our articles will be written to be read in full by our paid subscribers, but will be structured and paywalled in such a way that free subscribers still get meaningful insight and value out of the free portion.
We will, of course, occasionally send out entire articles and podcast episodes for free when we believe the topic at hand is particularly worth sharing.
4) Upcoming Retreats

Following the success of our two summer retreats in Bergamo and Rome, we have resolved to host another two to four retreats in 2026.
If there’s anywhere in particular you’d like to go with us, do let us know! Bergamo will certainly be on the list, but after that it’s anyone’s guess — Venice, Rome, Malta, and more are all in the cards…
5) Imperium Coffee
In case you missed it, a new site for Imperium Coffee just launched. The revamp was based entirely on user feedback, and we couldn’t be more happy with the result!
If you haven’t yet checked it out, be sure to do so now — all coffee is roasted to order, 100% arabica beans, and grown at high altitudes for unrivaled quality and flavor.
Next Steps
If you made it this far, thank you — James and I are grateful to count you among our readers, and we truly couldn’t do this without your support.
If you’d like to join as a paid subscriber to get instant access to our video archive, premium articles, and upcoming podcast episodes, you can do so at the link below. If you prefer to remain a free subscriber for the time being, that’s fine too — either way, we’re happy you’re here!
Thanks again for reading, and we look forward to sharing more content in the weeks ahead to help you raise august children and build your dynasty. Great things are surely to come…
Ad finem fidelis,
-Evan & James
