Thank you for this conversation. It reminded me of my visit to Venice in November 2018, when I spent eight nights in the Dorsoduro district.
One of the joys of my visit (after I had braved the crowds during my obligatory St. Mark's Square visit), was to ramble on my own through endless back-alleys, and across those interminable bridges, discovering quiet squares frequented by local families, all well away from the crush of fellow tourists.
All being well, I hope to visit again in November.
